06/08/08 - Gatemen Drop Preseason Gatemen to Columbus All-Americans
The Columbus All-Americans took the first of 3 games that they will play at Spillane Field against the Wareham Gatemen 3-2 last night (June 8th). Zach Brewster from Georgia Tech was the starting pitcher for Wareham and took the loss. Wareham was on the board first thanks for an RBI single from Dan Zailskas,
scoring Harvard teammate Tom Stack-Babich in the Bottom of the 2nd Inning.
Columbus answered back with 2 runs in the top of the 3rd and would tack on
another in top of the 6th. Wareham stole 6 bases in the losing effort.
The two teams will square off again this evening (June 9th) at 7:00pm. The probable starting pitcher is Jimmy Saris from Georgetown University. More details on last night's game will be posted to this website. Be sure to tune it to our live broadcast beginning at approximately 6:45pm.
