07/17/08 - Marth's Vineyard Information for July 22nd Game vs. Falmouth
The Wareham Gatemen will travel to Martha's Vineyard to take on the Falmouth Commodores on Tuesday, July 22nd at 1:00pm in what promises to be a special day of Cape Cod Baseball League baseball. If you plan on making the trip over to the Vineyard, we have provided some helpful information.
The best way to get to Martha's Vineyard if you are not taking a car is on the Island Queen; a passenger ferry that leaves from Falmouth Harbor, takes a 30 minute trip across Nantucket Sound and arrives in the town of Oak Bluffs. The Island Queen is located at 75 Falmouth Heights Road in Falmouth, MA. (directions are provided below) Parking is available in two lots operated by the Island Queen and costs $15 per day for each car. A round-trip ticket for the ferry is $16.00 per adult and $7.00 for a child under 12. (kids 2 and under are free) If you choose to bring bike, there is an additional $6.00 fee.
Once in Oak Bluffs, there are many transportation options for getting around the island and to the game. You may choose to find a larger van or "shuttle" that can bring a group over the to ballpark. If arriving early or plan on staying later in the day, the ferry pier is within walking distance of many fine restaurants, shops and the beach.
The game will be played at Martha's Vineyard Regional High School on Edgartown Road in Oak Bluffs. For directions to the field from the Island Queen Pier, click below:
