Alex Dickerson will come back to Cape Cod for his second season in the Wareham outfield. He has established himself as one of the top hitters in the nation; amongst the NCAA statistical leaders in batting average, homeruns, rbi, slugging percentage and total bases. Dickerson has been named the Big Ten’s player of the week twice this season and was the conference’s freshman of the year in 2009. Alex came to Indiana as one of the top players in the San Diego area; leading his nationally ranked high school team. He was drafted in '08 by the Washington Nationals. In 2009 for the Gatemen, Alex hit .224 with 3 homers and his 15 rbi was 2nd on the team. His three triples were tops on the Gatemen and 2nd in the CCBL. Alex is the most "decorated" Gatemen coming to Wareham in 2010 - being honored as the Big Ten Player of the Year and a national All-American after winning the triple crown in the conference this season. Dickerson has also been invited to tryout for Team USA in July. |
