The Wareham Gatemen are very proud of the over 850 collegiate baseball players that have worn a Gatemen uniform since 1969; many of which moved on to play Major League Baseball.  In 2009, 217 major league roster players competed in the Cod Cod Baseball League as collegiate athletes.

Notable Wareham Gatemen alumni include a number of former and current Major League Baseball stars such as Barry Zito, Carlos Pena, Mo Vaughn, Chuck Knobloch, Ben Sheets, Lance Berkman and Aaron Hill.  Recently, a number of former Gatemen have made their mark on the majors such as Justin Masterson, Jeremy Sowers, Ike Davis and Daniel Bard.
