As of May 1st, George tied the freshman record for homers at UCONN with 13 and has been the most productive offensive player for the Huskies this season.  He is hitting .335 with 47 rbi and those 13 homeruns.  Springer has also compiled 11 doubles, 3 triples and 110 total bases.  His slugging percentage is an impressive .683 & he has stolen 8 bases.  George was drafted by the Minnesota Twins in 2008 and is also familiar with Spillane Field - having played in the 2007 Cape Cod High School Classic in '07.
