Gatemen Organization/CCBL Help Raise $80,000 for March of Dimes

Wareham Gatemen organizational members Sheri Gay, Tom Gay, Louise Hannington and Glen Hannington participated in the March of Dimes Telerama that was broadcast live from Hyannis across Cape Cod. The CCBL raised about $10,000 during their hour; with the Gatemen contingent raising $1,500!!!  Great job.

2010 Wareham Gatemen Schedule Announced

Newcomers Bring "Experience" to Gatemen Roster

The 2010 Wareham Gatemen roster, as always, will include many new faces who will replace players that have moved on in their professional or concluding amateur baseball careers.  The latest crop of Gatemen rookies includes many players that already have a year of college baseball under their belts -- and will have two years behind them once they arrive on Cape Cod.  Read full story

2010 Roster Taking Shape

The Wareham Gatemen have published an early look at the 2010 roster.  The roster includes the previously announced list of protected players as well as some new players that have returned their contracts.  We will continue to up the roster as additional players commit.  See the 2010 roster here.  More additions to roster now available. Gatemen Announce 2010 "Protected Players" - Initial Roster

The Wareham Gatemen have submitted their list of "protected players" to CCBL Commissioner Paul Galop.  Protected players are those players that were part of the 2009 roster and if coming back to Cape Cod in 2010, will play for the Gatemen.  Read full story or see our roster page for list of players.

Greg Montalbano, 31, Loses Heroic Battle With Cancer

Former Wareham Gatemen and Orleans Cardinal Greg Montalbano (Northeastern), who was diagnosed with testicular cancer as a freshman in college, passed away at the age of 31 in Westborough, Massachusetts.  Read full story

George Springer Named to CCBL Year-End All-Star Team

The Cape Cod Baseball League has announced their 2009 Year-End All-Star Team and Wareham Gatemen George Springer (UCONN) has been named one of the honored outfielders.  Read full story and see entire team

Bourne Braves Win Their First CCBL Championship

The Bourne Braves defeated the Cotuit Kettleers 5-1 at Lowell Park in Cotuit; sweeping the Kettleers and winning the first championship by a Western Division Team since the 2002 Wareham Gatemen.

2009 Wareham Gatemen Season Recap

CCBL Champion Will Come Out of the West - Bourne/Cotuit Final

Not since the Wareham Gatemen won back-to-back championships in 2001 and 2002 has a CCBL Champion come out of the Western Division.  That will change this year as the Bourne Braves will have home field advantage in a best-of-3 championship series that will decide the 2009 Cape Cod Baseball League Championship.  Read full story
