Introducing the 2014 Wareham Gatemen


The Wareham Gatemen organization is pleased to introduce the 2014 roster.  After winning the franchise's 7th CCBL Championship in 2012, the Gatemen had a tough 2013 campaign, finishing last in the Western Division and missing the playoffs for the first time since 2008.  Looking to return to championship form, the Gatemen roster features 19 fresh faces who will come to Wareham from across the country.  See full roster


Bourne Shuts Out Wareham in Home Finale


The Bourne Braves scored 4 runs in the top of the first inning and never looked back; handing the Wareham Gatemen an 8-0 shutout loss at Spillane Field in the final home game of the 2013 season.  More to follow

Harborhawks Maintain Pace in Still Undecided West Division


The Wareham Gatemen, having already been eliminated from the 2013 CCBL Playoffs, had the opportunity to impact the West Division race last night.  However, despite jumping out to 3-0 lead, the Hyannis Harborhawks came back to take a 6-4 win and remain in a first place tie with the Falmouth Commodores.  More to follow

Cutura/Gatemen Take Care of Whitecaps 8-1

Cotuit Sweeps Season Series From Wareham

Stinging Loss for Wareham - Falmouth Comes Back to Sweep Double Header


In a battle of tired teams in this late season CCBL Western Division showdown, the Falmouth Commodores, trailing 4-1 in the final inning, scored 6 runs off of Gatemen closer Jonathan Holder to win 7-4 in a dramatic come from behind victory to sweep two games from the Wareham Gatemen at Spillane Field.  Read full story

Quick Start Overcome By Firebirds


The Wareham Gatemen jumped out to an early 2-0 lead; highlighted by a solo homerun off the bat of Cole Sturgeon (Louisville) but the Orleans Firebirds scratched their way back into the game and eventually overcame the Gatement with a big eighth inning to defeat Wareham 5-3. Big Offensive Night For Wareham - Downs East Leading Chatham 11-6

East Downs West in CCBL All-Star Game


The East All-Stars dominated the West 9-3 in the Annual CCBL All-Star Game yesterday at Red Wilson Field in front of over 4,000 fans.  JD Davis (Cal-Fullerton) from Chatham was named the East MVP while Kevin Cron (Falmouth) was honored with the East MVP Award.  The Gatemen are back at it today at 7pm in Chatham.

Schwarber Returns - Picks Up Where He Left Off


As the Gatemen Broadcast Team Tweeted last night, "You can't make this stuff up!".  Kyle Schwarber (Indiana), who played  in his final game just 2 days ago in Durham, NC for Team USA, returned to the very field where he last wore a Gatemen uniform and where he hit one of the most dramatic homeruns in Gatemen history in leading the Gatemen to the 2012 CCBL Championship.  In this one, Schwarber provide perhaps the hightlight moment of the 2013 season as he hit a game tying, 2-run homer at Red Wilson Field to cap a 4 for 4 night in his 2013 Cape League debut.  Read full story & listen to postgame interview with Kyle Schwarber & Coach Farris

Newcomb/Holder Combine to Shutout Hyannis

Losing Streak Hits Six For Struggling Gatemen


For the third game in a row, Chatham scored three runs in the first inning. The Anglers tacked on four more in the second and never looked back, defeating Wareham, 8-4, on Sunday night at Spillane Field. With the win, Chatham improved its league-best record to 23-9-1.
