Jordan was drafted by the Colorado Rockies in the 2008 MLB draft and is a talented two-way player.  He was a highly recruited player out of high school and played for the USA National Junior Team.  Swagerty saw time last year for the Gatemen as a pitcher, catcher, DH and first basemen.  Jordan was named an honorable mention on the All Pac-10 team as a freshman. At Arizona State this year he has evolved as their closer and finished with 14 saves; placing him among the best in the nation.  His performance has landed him a spot on the mid-year “watch list” as a nominee for Stopper of the Year by the NCBWA.  He was named to the PAC-10 All-Conference team and drafted in the 2nd round (75th overall) in the 2010 MLB draft. In 2009 for the Gatemen, Swagerty appeared in 6 games on mound and picked up one save and he hit .286 with a homer while appearing in 25 games.
