Matt Barnes is one of 4 UCONN Husky baseball players on the Wareham roster and one of two to be invited to tryout for team USA in Cary, NC.  Barnes put together one of the best seasons in the nation by a starting pitcher.  He had an 8-3 record to go along with a 3.92 era and struck out 75 batters in 82.2 innings of work.  Matt will hopefully return to Wareham for his second season after helping the Gatemen earn a playoff spot in 2009.  Barnes both started and came out of the bullpen for Wareham last season; making a total of 4 starts and 9 overall appearances; compiling a 1-3 record.  A returning veteran of the pitching staff, Barnes is expected to be in the starting rotation this season.
