HARWICH- The Wareham Gatemen (4-0) will travel down to Harwich to take on the Mariners (1-3) at 5:30 p.m. at Whitehouse Field in Harwich.
The Gatemen are coming off their second straight come from behind win. Last night, down 4-2 in the seventh, CF Skyler Hunter (Purdue) hit a two-run RBI single to tie the game. 1B Andrew Vaughn (California) was the next batter and hit a three-run homer to give Wareham a 7-4 lead.
The score would hold as the Gatemen recorded win number four by a score of 7-4 over the Falmouth Commodores.
RHP Will Proctor (Georgia) was the winning pitcher for the Gatemen. Proctor threw 3.2 innings allowing only one run. LHP Justin Glover (Georgia) got the start and gave up three runs over his four innings. RHP Dominic Savino (Albany) picked up his first save of the young season.
The Mariners enter play today having lost three straight games. Harwich was defeated last night 4-1 by the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox. RHP Kyle Murphy (Northeastern) took the loss as he allowed three runs in the fifth inning.
Today’s matchup between the Gatemen and the Mariners marks their second of four matchups this season.
In the first contest between Wareham and Harwich, the Mariners were trailing 2-1 in the eighth inning but managed to tie the game on an Andre Lipcius (Tennessee) double. In the ninth, the Gatemen walked it off as Bryant Packard (ECU) hit a game winning sacrifice fly. Wareham won 3-2.

After today’s game the two teams will not square off again until July 15.
LHP Easton Lucas is the scheduled starter for Wareham today. Lucas is a rising junior at Pepperdine University. Lucas pitched in 16 games last year for the Waves including five starts. He posted a 4.11 ERA with a 2-3 record. Lucas also had two saves on the year and opponents hit .252 off him.
RHP Ty Buckner will be on the mound today for the Mariners. Buckner is a rising sophomore at Missouri State and is a collegiate teammate of Wareham’s Drew Millas. Buckner appeared in 16 games as a freshman (15 starts, one relief) and had a middling ERA of 4.81.
Buckner’s best start of the season came on April 29 against Bradley University. Buckner threw a complete game one-hitter over seven innings. The Bears won 13-2 and Drew Millas was behind the plate doing the catching for Buckner that day.
3B Austin Shenton (FIU) is out of the lineup tonight after leaving last night's game after fouling a ball off his knee.
Catcher Gian Martellini from Boston College will make his first appearance of the season today and is hitting eighth.
