Wareham Gatemen Meet and Greet Customers at Five Cents Savings Bank

July 9, 2018

Wareham Gatemen players took time this morning, July 9, to sit outside the Cape Cod Five Cents Savings bank for a meet and greet with customers of the bank.

The players signed baseballs for the customers to pick up while they were at the bank. The players also signed a bat for the bank to raffle off at a later occasion.

Customers occasionally asked how the season was going so far and how each player was doing individually.

Not too long after the players arrived at the bank, the Boys and Girls Club of New Bedford stopped by to hang out with the players.

The kids and players talked about how the season was going so far and what each of the kids wanted to do when they grew up.

Perry’s Ice Cream truck provided chilled, sweet treats for the kids and players while they talked. After the players and kids had finished their conversations, the players signed autographs for the kids before they left.

The players in attendance for this community service event were Gian Martellini, Ryan Stoudemire, Brendan White, Tyler Keysor, Ryan Garcia, Derek West, Jeremy Ydens, Ryan Kriedler, and Lael Lockhart.

For Gatemen baseball action, the Brewster Whitecaps are in town this evening, July 9, with first pitch slated for 6:30pm. Tonight’s theme is 90’s night, so break out those denim shorts and backwards hats.
