WAREHAM – Tuesday’s game on July 17 against the Falmouth Commodores was postponed due to inclement weather and will now be made up on July 26 at 6:30 p.m.
The Gatemen and Commodores actually got the game started earlier this week and made it to the bottom of the second inning with the score tied 3-3 before it was called.
This was the scene from a rainy, windy night at Spillane on Tuesday (via Caroline O'Connor).
In the top of the first, Falmouth scored three runs when Kyle Stowers hit a 3-run homer off Ken Waldichuk to get the Commodores off to a good start. In the bottom of the second, the Gatemen got four runners on base and scored three runs before the rain came down and halted play.
However, when the game is made up, none of these stats will count as the game will be played again from the start as a new game.
The Gatemen and Commodores still have three games left to play against each other this season and they will all come on consecutive days from July 25-July 27.
The first game of this makeshift series will take place at Arnie Allen Diamond in Falmouth at 6 p.m. on July 25. Then, the Commodores come back to Spillane Field on Thursday and Friday, July 26 and 27, to play the Gatemen beginning at 6:30 p.m. both nights.
