WAREHAM – The Gatemen (21-16-1) play the rubber match of a three-game series tonight with the Falmouth Commodores (20-17-1) at 6:30 p.m. at Spillane Field.
Last night, the Commodores defeated the Gatemen 5-3 in a very tightly contested ballgame. Pat McGowan recorded the win for Falmouth going six innings allowing two runs. Cam Cannon was the offensive star driving in three runs, including the biggest hit of the night in the seventh inning. Cannon drove in two runs in the seventh to break a 3-3 tie with two outs.

After a three hit performance yesterday, Drew Millas is in the lineup again tonight hitting fifth at DH (via Caroline O'Connor).
Following Falmouth’s win yesterday, the Commodores sit just two points back (one win) of the Gatemen for second place in the West. If the Commodores win today, they would improve to 4-2 on the season head-to-head versus Wareham and would the tiebreaker for any playoff seedings scenarios. If Wareham wins, the will inch ever closer to clinching a playoff spot and will be four points ahead of Falmouth.
RHP Derek West (0-0, 0.90 ERA) gets the start today for the Gatemen and will be making his fourth appearance of the summer. In his last outing, West went four innings in a game the Gatemen won 6-1 over Harwich. West will be facing the Commodores for the second time this summer as his season debut was against Falmouth. In that game, West went five scoreless innings allowing just three hits.
RHP Matt Canterino (2-0, 1.52 ERA) faces the Gatemen for the first time in his fifth start of the summer. Canterino last appearance came over the weekend in the All-Star Game for the West Division. He started the game for the West and picked up the win tossing a 1-2-3 inning with two strikeouts. The start for Canterino will be his last of the summer as he departs Falmouth after reaching his innings limit.
