Gatemen look to get back in the win column after being lost in the fog

WAREHAM- After having a game being postponed last night against the Harwich Mariners and the night before losing to the Mariners in a 6 game inning cut short by fog, the Gatemen have a chance to bounce back hosting the Falmouth Commodores at 6:45 p.m.

The rain has had a major impact on the early going of the CCBL 2019 season and several teams have been impacted. Two nights ago most games were cut short by fog and the rain hit the Bourne field so hard they have had postponed multiple games.

The rain has not slowed down Wareham as the Gatemen currently sitting atop the Western Division with a record of (5-3-1). The Gatemen are fresh off a defeat but this shouldn’t be concerning as the game was ended in the 6thinning due to fog and the Gatemen have done the most damage in later innings.

The next challenge that awaits the Gatemen is the Falmouth Commodores (3-3-1). Wareham will want some revenge because of the first result between these two teams. On June 17thThe Gatemen had a 5-4 lead heading into the 7thinning but a grand slam made the final score 8-5 in favor of Falmouth.

Falmouth has not played since this game with the Gatemen as their next four games were all postponed due to weather. So whether or not this rest will help or hurt the Commodores is yet to be seen. One thing that is certain is both these teams are hungry to finally play a nine inning game.

On the mound for the Gatemen is Landon Roupp (UNCW). In 2 innings of work against the Hyannis Harbor Hawks Roupp struck out 3 batters allowing 1 run on 1 hit.

As for Falmouth, Carmen Mlodzinski (South Carolina) is on the mound. Mlodzinski allowed 3 runs in 4 innings of work against Hyannis striking out 7 batters.
